Recently, more and more people have been diagnosed in Hong Kong with a form of gluten allergy called Celiac Disease. This is a genetic autoimmune disorder that attacks the small intestine and can affect people of all ages. For those affected, eating food with gluten can cause a host of symptoms including but not limited to pain and discomfort in the digestive tract, chronic constipation and diarrhea, failure to thrive in children, anemia and fatigue.
